July to October is peak season when humpback whales migrate through Mauritian waters. August and September offer the highest sighting rates.
During peak season (July-October), success rate is approximately 70-80%. Whales are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Swimming with whales is not permitted in Mauritius to protect both whales and humans. We observe from the boat at a respectful distance.
Bring camera with zoom lens, binoculars, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, light jacket (can be windy), and seasickness medication if needed.
Yes, children 6+ are welcome. It's an educational experience. However, tours involve several hours at sea, so consider if your child can handle boat rides.
