Your Own Catamaran, Your Own Schedule
This is your own catamaran, your own schedule, and no other passengers — a private charter built entirely around finding dolphins and, when they are in season, whales off the west coast of Mauritius.
Because the timing is entirely private, your skipper can adjust the route and pace around what the animals are doing that day rather than working to a fixed group schedule. If the dolphins are active at dawn, you set off at dawn. If a whale is spotted further offshore, you have the flexibility to head out to it.
A private catamaran is also simply a more comfortable way to do it. You get far more deck space than a speedboat to move around, relax, or set up for photos, plus a shaded saloon on board if anyone in your group needs a break from the sun or the motion of open water.
We follow the Mauritius dolphin-watching code of conduct throughout — no chasing, no harassing, and swimming only when the dolphins approach calmly. Swimming with whales is not permitted under Mauritian marine wildlife guidelines, but respectful viewing and photography are a genuine highlight of the season.
Full Day Itinerary
Private departure from the west coast
Depart from the Black River / Tamarin area at the time you agree with your skipper. Early morning departures give the best chance of calm water and active dolphins.
Dolphin grounds & swim
Cruise to the dolphin grounds and swim with wild Spinner and Bottlenose dolphins in open water at your own pace. The crew follows respectful viewing guidelines throughout.
Offshore whale watching (seasonal)
If whales are in the area (roughly July–October), head further offshore to observe them from the boat. Sightings and photography are a highlight of the season, though not guaranteed.
Snorkelling stop near the reef
Anchor near the reef for a private snorkelling stop. Masks, snorkels and fins are provided, and the crew can guide beginners to the best coral patches.
Return cruise
Sail back to the departure point with refreshments on board, having set the pace of the day around your own group.

Meeting Point & Directions
The private catamaran departs from the Black River / Tamarin area on the west coast. As a private charter, departure time and, where possible, the departure point can be tailored to your group. Hotel pickup can be arranged.
