A catamaran cruise to Île aux Cerfs is the most iconic full-day excursion in Mauritius — and this is the real thing. You board a spacious 45-foot luxury catamaran at Pointe Jerome on the south east coast and spend seven hours sailing, snorkelling, and relaxing across one of the most beautiful stretches of ocean in the Indian Ocean.
From the moment you board, the experience begins: a light breakfast is served, the open bar opens, and the catamaran sets sail across the turquoise east coast lagoon toward Île aux Cerfs. Around 11:00, the boat anchors inside the island's largest lagoon for a snorkelling break. The water here is crystal clear with visibility often exceeding 20 metres — corals, parrotfish, butterflyfish, and clownfish are standard sightings.
After snorkelling, the route follows the Grand River South East to the GRSE waterfall, one of the only places in the world where a waterfall flows directly into the ocean. The river banks are home to giant fruit bats and monkeys — keep your camera ready. A freshly prepared BBQ lunch is then served on deck: chicken skewers, sausages, marinated fish, four salad varieties, garlic bread, and tropical fruit, all accompanied by unlimited drinks throughout the day.
The afternoon brings free time on Île aux Cerfs itself — arguably the most famous island beach in the Indian Ocean. Powdery white sand, vivid turquoise water, and swaying palms. You can swim, snorkel from the shore, try parasailing, underwater sea walks, or simply collapse on the sand. The return sail includes sega music, local stories from the crew, and views of the coast at its most golden. This catamaran cruise to Île aux Cerfs is the full package, and it lives up to every word of the hype.
Arrive at the jetty and step aboard the 45ft luxury catamaran. The crew welcomes you with a light breakfast — tea, coffee, fresh juice, and mini pastries. The open bar opens the moment you board.
The catamaran sets sail across one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Indian Ocean. Sega music plays, drinks flow, and the turquoise water stretches endlessly in every direction.
The catamaran anchors inside the island lagoon for a 30–40 minute snorkelling break. Mask, snorkel, and fins are provided. Swim among superb corals and brightly coloured tropical fish — parrotfish, butterflyfish, clownfish, and more.
The catamaran sails along the Grand River South East, where the waterfall pours directly into the ocean. Spot giant bats and monkeys on the river banks. Then settle in for a freshly grilled BBQ lunch — chicken skewers, sausages, marinated fish, four salads, garlic bread, and tropical fruit dessert. Unlimited drinks all day.
Anchor near the famous white sandbank. Swim in vivid turquoise water, walk the powdery white sand, try parasailing, tube rides, or underwater sea walk on the island (at additional cost). This is the highlight — take your time.
Re-board for the sail back. The crew plays sega and local music, the bar stays open, and the mood is festive. Arrive back at Pointe Jerome around 16:00 with sun-kissed skin and a full camera roll.
Vegetarian option available on advance request.
Menu subject to change without prior notice.
Important: Maximum catamaran capacity is 34 passengers. Snorkelling equipment is provided — bring your own mask for a better fit.

“Absolutely the best day of our entire Mauritius trip. The catamaran crew were so friendly, the BBQ lunch was incredible, and snorkelling at the lagoon was something we will never forget. Île aux Cerfs itself is breathtaking — the white sandbank looks like something from a dream.”

“We were a family of 6 including kids. The crew were amazing with the children — life jackets fitted, patient with nervous swimmers, full of stories about the island. The snorkelling stop had the best corals I have ever seen. Worth every cent.”

“Third time visiting Mauritius and this catamaran cruise was the highlight each time. The GRSE waterfall from the water is something you cannot see any other way. Crystal clear visibility for snorkelling. The crew made us feel like guests, not just customers.”
