About This Île Plate & Îlot Gabriel Cruise
Île Plate — better known as Flat Island — is the most photographed of the Mauritian northern islets, a long, low sliver of white sand crowned at one end by a historic stone lighthouse. On this full-day cruise from Grand Baie the catamaran threads past the dramatic silhouette of Coin de Mire for photos, then comes ashore on Île Plate itself, where you have around 1 to 1½ hours to explore the island and enjoy lunch served on the beach.
The day is built around relaxed island time. After the morning sail and the Coin de Mire photo stop, breakfast is served on board — coffee and cake — before the catamaran anchors at Île Plate. Lunch is a generous grilled spread served on the island, accompanied by drinks. Afterwards the boat continues to Îlot Gabriel, the neighbouring islet, where 45 minutes to an hour of swimming, snorkelling and relaxing in shallow, impossibly clear water rounds off the afternoon.

Meet on the public beach
Meet on the public beach behind Sunset Boulevard in Grand Baie. The crew checks you in and briefs you on the day ahead.
Boarding & departure
Step aboard the catamaran and set sail from Grand Baie into the calm north coast lagoon.
Sail towards Coin de Mire
The catamaran approaches Coin de Mire — the distinctive rock islet known as Gunner's Quoin — for photo opportunities before continuing north.
Breakfast on board
Coffee and cake are served on deck as you sail towards the northern islets.
Stop at Île Plate
Come ashore on Île Plate (Flat Island) with approximately 1 to 1½ hours to enjoy the island, its beaches and its historic lighthouse.
Lunch on Île Plate
A freshly grilled lunch is served on the island, accompanied by drinks.
Îlot Gabriel swim & snorkel
After lunch, visit Îlot Gabriel with approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to swim, snorkel and relax in the shallow, clear water.
Return to Grand Baie
The catamaran sails back to Grand Baie, arriving between 16:00 and 16:30.

Meet on the public beach behind Sunset Boulevard in Grand Baie. Please arrive by 08:15 to check in with the skipper and crew before the 08:30 departure. If you have booked hotel pickup, your driver will drop you directly at the meeting point. The exact spot is confirmed on booking.
